Emsella is a non-invasive and non-surgical treatment to help improve urinary incontinence and strengthen pelvic floor muscles. It uses high intensity focused electromagnetic technology (HIFEM) to effectively stimulate the pelvic floor muscles leading to improved muscle tone and control.
The treatment involves patients sitting on the Emsella chair fully clothed. The chair will emit electromagnetic waves to induce supramaximal contractions in the pelvic floor muscles. These contractions are a lot stronger than what could be achieved with typical pelvic floor exercises alone. The repeated contractions will strengthen and tone the pelvic floor muscles which play a crucial part in urinary incontinence.
What are the benefits of the Emsella procedure?
It is estimated that one session of Emsella is the equivalent of 11000 kegel exercises.
Other benefits of the treatment include a positive effect on sexual wellness and back pain whilst also
helping to prevent further urinary issues.
Each treatment session lasts around 30 minutes, typically patients require 6 sessions over the course
of 3 weeks.
