Crows Feet

Crows feet, sometimes referred to as laughter or character lines, are the fine lines that radiate out from eye area towards the temples and cheeks. They are often not visible when the face is at rest but with time, they may progress down the cheek, set in and become permanent wrinkles.

They can affect anyone at anytime in life but usually start to appear in the mid 30’s.

These lines are a natural part of the ageing process, caused in part by everyday facial movements such as smiling and laughing, combined with the loss of collagen, elastin and volume in the skin as we age. UV exposure and smoking are also often contributory factors.

We may treat crow’s feet independently or in conjunction with other areas of the face, for example, frown lines or lines and wrinkles around the nose or mouth.

Botox will be recommended to relax the muscles around the eye, softening lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers will be recommended where crow’s feet are primarily due to volume loss.
